Bedtime Buddha. (Revised).
I have a Buddha on my bed.
A triple coloured Buddha
On the coverlet of my bed.
When I toss and turn at night
He ripples like the sea.
When I lie stone still in dreams
He counts his breathing imperceptibly
So I rarely sense his presence when I wake.
I have a Buddha on my bed.
A black and red and purple Buddha on my bed.
Now that I live alone he is the only guard I have
To tuck me in at bedtime,
To keep an open eye when burglars prowl at ease;
While walk the Dead.
I have a Buddha on my bed.
A friendly Buddha sewn with coloured thread.
